Strange people the old Bubble's, like Cough said, very vocal but pussies when it comes to the crunch.
Always found them very conscientious and great colleagues, just don't speak about football, they'll have you thinking that Olympiakos/Panathinaitkos are the best teams in Europe, deluded to the enth degree.

Re: People you work with who you don't like/don't like you
Had a boss who was a bit of an idiot.
Before a meeting he was attending he'd want an e-mail explaining the complexities of the current crisis situation.
I'd write the e-mail explaining whatever the issue was & offering a solution but then for some reason I'd have to sit with him for an hour & he'd read the e-mail with me there & I'd have to explain it to him & then he'd handwrite the contents of the e-mail into his work diary for the meeting.
It was a complete waste of his time & my time.
If the contents of the e-mail needed to be explained it should've taken approx 5mins - but because he was hand writing the explanation it took an hour.
It was a waste of an hour for me & him.
He did this loads of time.
Plus he did it to other people in our dept.
Could never understand why he didn't just print the e-mails?
It culminated in him contradicting me on a call with our Sales/marketing people & he said I was wrong about a technical issue (ie the average number of processors used in a specific high-end Server- there was a processor shortage - he thought there was only one processor per server).
The marketing people told him he was wrong & I was right.
When the next round of redundancies was announced in that company everyone in his group applied.

Snareston, I worked with Greeks for ten years, they fight with words, very rarely does it get physical. I enjoyed my time working with them.

Re: People you work with who you don't like/don't like you
I've worked in a Greek bank for a few years and had a colleague join me for a few days. My opposite number in the bank came to my desk and starting shouting at me about something, really aggressively, so I started shouting back. She left my desk, and my colleague told me I couldn't treat our client like that. I told him to do his job and I'll do mine, which he didn't like. Half an hour later the bank resource came back, was all smiles, asking about my weekend etc etc. She left, and my colleague asked what the hell just happened. It's just how they work, they will shout about work, even when it's unnecessary, it's just the way they are. It's then put aside and never taken personally. It was learning curve for me, but it showed me that you can dislike somebody on a work level, but get on with them personally - at the end of the day, we're all just trying to do our job!

I generally find people can be more out of order / aggressive / unlikeable in work mode when there is conflict and stress in the heat of the moment and it melts away over a beer. I have rarely taken a real dislike to someone at work as a person.

Re: People you work with who you don't like/don't like you
During 18 years of working within the same business I have grown to hate beyond any sense of rationality the MD. He hasn't always been the MD. I've rowed with him, I've offered him the chance to go toe to toe with me and I can honestly say I have hated the man. Now, with less that 3 weeks of work left in me (full time) I just look at him and, as the penguins say on Madagascar, SMILE & WAVE. I don't have enough time left either at the office or on the planet to worry about the bloke anymore. And I have to say, I feel so much better for it!

Re: People you work with who you don't like/don't like you
This is an interesting thread.

In my world everybody behaves and interacts in a similar way which could best be described as ‘professionally polite’.

With the exception of a small number of people that I have genuine friendships with, I have no idea what others might think of me. Conversely my opinion of them is solely linked to how well or otherwise they do their respective jobs. Is this robotic? Pretty much.

People will backstab and ladder climb if they are inclined to, but this is always motivated by career considerations, never personal ones.

Obnoxious people are weeded out long before they can do any damage.

I’ve only ever been a boss and people always liked me on payday. Rest of the time I was a massive cunt. Rightly so.

An emphatic yes. And I'm the only one in the company,

It's the clients that I have the most problems with, as some expect so much more for what they're paying.

Re: People you work with who you don't like/don't like you
Very few.

In three decades, just one, really.

I privately told him about a mistake he'd made in his work. He then arranged a meeting at 10 o'clock later in the week, and complained to our boss that I hadn't turned up for it, at 9 o'clock on the day, pretending that was the time we had agreed,

My boss bought it, but fortunately for me, the same bloke stitched my boss up a couple of weeks later, leaving with a mass of stuff undone, My boss did a U-turn on the issue between him and me,

Most people are decent,

Re: People you work with who you don't like/don't like you
Only three as I am a pretty going person.
Two were psychopaths - superficial charmers who played games and liked to break people. One sacked a random person on a pretty regular basis.
I worked in the Daily Mail's digital bit developeing the websites and that place should have been toxic as it was very confrontational and sweary but at least everything was out in the open. You had your argument and then got on with the job.
The worst was a project manager who had a habit of taking credit for your ideas. Second time he did that to me I was nice as pie in the meeting when he said it and then pinned him to the wall afterwards and told him if he ever did that again there would be consequences.
Our CTO made him apologise in the end which pleased me a lot.

Re: People you work with who you don't like/don't like you
I was never paid by the people I worked with so whether or not they liked me was irrelevant. Was an awful amount or racism sent my way, though.

A few took a dislike to me because I questioned their working practices, which seemed to revolve around getting their contracts extended rather than the job done, but only a handful of people over 40 years at work would I consider going out with for a beer.

Re: People you work with who you don't like/don't like you
Never made one friend in over a decade at the place I work. I can't stand any of them and they, at best, find me aloof. To do with the industry I work in, full of middle-class lefty nerds who take themselves too seriously. It's shame as life is obviously easier if you have friends in your workplace but I need the money so I just bear with it. Less of a problem since WFH.
